Suggested update to the WikiTree profile

This study has prepared revised text for the public WikiTree profile. WikiTree editors can compare it with the current profile and copy it; the research account above is the study's own.

Add the independent 1821 McKeown Bible and Drimbolg evidence and explain unresolved Larne/Inishrush kinship and DNA limits; qualify conflicting 1831 denomination transcriptions while preserving the existing migration corrections, family details, quotations and sources.

Application review, 2026-09-30: Full current biography compared passage by passage with the reconciled draft: facts, named relatives, quotations, citations, search scope and uncertainty accounted for. Supported corrections are recorded in the preservation audit. Proposed edits remain unsaved. Full replacement requires the profile manager.

Replacement profile30* The John Glasgow recorded in Richland Township, Belmont County, in 1830 was aged forty to forty-nine and was almost certainly a different man. Replacement profile35John's Inishrush residence and his own family evidence remain distinct from the unresolved parentage of [[Glasgow-3902|Adam Glasgow]]. Their shared parish and the 1831 household list make a brother or other collateral relationship worth testing, but do not state one. The family Bible's naming pattern can suggest an older Adam and Maria as a research lead only; it does not identify either parent. A broader Larne model makes [[Glasgow-1509|James Glasgow]] a possible earlier-generation candidate, but no record connects the ropemaker to John. The public Y-DNA comparison is useful for selecting descendants and testing a wider paternal network, but participant pedigrees and reported distances do not identify John's father or prove a specific relationship to Adam or [[Glasgow-951|Alexander Glasgow]]. The best current conclusion is a documented Inishrush and Covenanter family with unproved collateral links to Adam and the Larne candidates.<ref name="JohnRegister" /><ref name="Census1831" /><ref name="JohnCurrent">[https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/glasgow/about Glasgow Surname Project at FamilyTreeDNA]. Project groupings and participant pedigrees provide context for a paternal-line hypothesis, not a statement of John's parentage.</ref>

Replacement profile39A separate McKeown family Bible records John Glasgow McKeown's birth at Inishrush on 17 April 1821 and baptism by the Rev. Joseph Orr. Drimbolg Reformed Presbyterian history records a John Glasgow in 1809 and as an elder in 1827.
