Biography

84th ditto: Lieutenant John James Peck from the 89th Foot to be Lieutenant, vice Edward George Glasgow, who retires upon half-pay 18th Light Dragoons. Same full name and 84th Regiment as the 1825 notice; career continuity is plausible, not independently identified.[1]

Research Notes

The full argument is in group 1050085864. The London Gazette of 17 June 1826 ('vice Edward George Glasgow, who retires upon half-pay 18th Light Dragoons') continues the 1825 Gazette career of the same rare full name in the same regiment, the 84th. He returned as Lt 41st Foot on 26 July 1827, was a captain in the 41st by 1829, and was dead by Dec 1849 (widow Emily Caroline). No WikiTree profile; Glasgow-2074 and 3501 are incompatible (see 1050085864).
