William Glasgow, co-plaintiff and Drapersfield mill partner

Reviewed 4 October 2026. The two partners shared an uncle, but the report does not expressly say that they were brothers. [[Glasgow-1737|William Glasgow of Killycurragh]] is chronologically compatible; its David father attachment is a comparison to test, not a reason to assign the newspaper’s ambiguous Robert clause.

Biography

William Glasgow and Benjamin Glasgow operated a mill near Cookstown and brought a watercourse action against John Sloan in 1858. A second William Glasgow testified as their uncle.[1][2] In January 1864 Benjamin and William Glasgow of Drapersfield Mills offered premises formerly occupied by the late Robert Glasgow. A 1866 court report mentions a cheque drawn by the partners.[3][4]

Research Notes

The two partners shared an uncle, but the report does not expressly say that they were brothers. William Glasgow of Killycurragh is chronologically compatible; its David father attachment is a comparison to test, not a reason to assign the newspaper’s ambiguous Robert clause.
