Biography

Robert de Glascu was named in an English Curia Regis roll for Michaelmas term 1200 among men said to have been present at a robbery at Dadinton. The notice says that Robert had poor eyesight and could not open his eyes well.[1]

The entry does not establish Robert's occupation, residence or precise procedural status. It does not justify calling him a convicted robber, merchant or formal witness.

Research Notes

Identity with the late-twelfth-century Dublin guild member is possible but unproved. Keep the records separate until a shared associate, occupation, property or explicit alias is found.
