Mr. N. G. (“Doctor”) Glasgow, Of Turakiha 
The death occurred last Sunday, at “Ardshiel,” Turakina, of Mr. Nathanael Grant (“Doctor”) Glasgow. He was born at Turakina in 1878, and was the youngest of seven sons ot the late Adam Glasgow. "Doctor” Glasgow lived practically the whole of his life in Turakina, and at the age of 21 enlisted in the First Contingent of the force New Zealand sent to the South African War. After his return from South Africa Mr. Glasgow started farming and successfully carried on that activity until the time of his death. 

In his young days he was both a keen footballer- and a cycling enthusiast. He played for the Kaierau Rugby Football Club, and on retiring from active football continued to take a full share ot responsibility in its administration. For a number of years he was a selector for the Rangitikei Rugby Union, and in relinquishing that position was made a life member. 

Mr. Glasgow was a student of the Maori and his customs, and was something of an authority in that respect, his opinions often being sought. He also took a great interest in New Zealand native trees and shrubs, and something of a tribute to his love in that direction came in the form o£ a wreath at the funeral, a wreath made entirely of New Zealand flowers and foliage. With that, great love which most New Zealanders of Scottish descent display, the late Mr. Glasgow was an ardent supporter of all that was Scottish in the Dominion, being a prominent member of the clans, supporter of Pipe Bands, Highland dancing and Caledonian games. Mr. Glasgow married the second daughter of the late Mr. Robert Hughes, of Marybank, Wanganui, who survives him. There are two sons—Adam, of Turakina, and Robert, Waikato—and two daughters—lsla, ot Turakina, and Mrs. S. Ritchie, of Gisborne, and five grandchildren. There are four brothers surviving—Messrs. Bill and Stewart Glasgow (Wanganui) and Alex and Robert (Turakina).
