Hannah had not married and Mary was widowed at the time.  Mary had two boys and they were raised together with the orphaned children living all together with Hannah.  Mary Catherine Glasgow, Elisabeth and John C.'s daughter, married Francis M. Purvis, Mary Reese Purvis' son.
