Current profile46An 1874 deed recites a lease to James Glasgow dated 2 October 1779 and its renewal to Anne Glasgow and Jane Glasgow on 25 February 1832. The north-side Newtown property, formerly John English’s, adjoined a tenement formerly Hugh Glasgow’s. This documents succession to a lease, but does not call the women James’s daughters or identify which James held it. The monument wife Jane died in 1820 and cannot automatically be the 1832 Jane.
