Richard Swift married Jane White at Birmingham on 5 August 1771 and was the father of Jane Swift, baptized there on 27 December 1777. His parents remain unidentified.
FamilySearch search on 2 September 2026 found a closer but still unproved lead: Richard Swift was christened 27 August 1737 at St Philip's, Birmingham, with father Richard (JSJH-W9F). A Richard Swift married Mary Harding at St Phillips, Birmingham, on 2 December 1728 (N236-B5Q; tree profile MK76-G4S). The dates and place make this a plausible father-and-son chain, but no record identifies the 1737 child as the Richard who married Jane White in 1771. The baptism supplies no mother, and the 1771 marriage supplies no age, residence or parentage.
A second nearby candidate, Richd. Swift christened 15 September 1751 at Great Alne to Jno. Swift and Sarah (JQTN-YQ7; tree profile MJYW-4RN), has no spouse or children linking him to the Birmingham couple. Neither candidate is sufficient for a WikiTree parent attachment.
