 Beula Faye Waite-Glasgow, affectionately known as Faye, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2023, in her beloved adopted hometown of Huntsville, Alabama. She was born on January 2, 1934, in Oxford, Mississippi, and we can't help but marvel at the cosmic coincidence of her birth date—1234. Faye's life was a testament to strength, grace, and a touch of humor that brightened the lives of those around her.
 Faye was the seventh child out of eight, and the last to pass away, born to Oliver Dow Waite and his wife Beulah Artilla Simmons-Waite, a loving and hardworking farming couple during the challenging times of the Great Depression. Despite the hardships, Faye's childhood was filled with fond memories and an unwavering quiet strength that would shape her into a remarkable woman of poise and education.
 In her early twenties, Faye married the brilliant rocket scientist, Vershel Lynn Glasgow, known as Lynn, who would leave a lasting impact on the field of science. For a few years, they resided in Fort Worth, Texas, where Faye excelled in her role as the perfect homemaker. During this time, she welcomed two of her three children into the world, Steven Lee and Mitchell Alan. Faye's meticulous dedication to raising her children instilled in them wisdom and knowledge from the very beginning.
 In 1963, Faye and Lynn embarked on a new adventure and moved to Huntsville, Alabama, the epicenter of America's transformative space-race years. It was here that their family grew, with the arrival of their youngest child, Jay Oliver. Huntsville became Faye's cherished home, a place where she would leave an indelible mark on the community.
 During the vibrant and eventful sixties, Faye was a member of a unique Bridge Club composed of eight women who would all go on to become influential social, civic, and business leaders, including elected officials, corporate executives, and educators. Alongside this incubator of excellence, Faye also nurtured her sons' musical talents by exploring contemporary and show tunes on the piano, expanding their musical horizons and fostering their own chosen paths.
 Faye's last six decades were the envy of all who knew her. She blazed trails in women's aviation, twice being elected president of the Flying Petticoats, a national organization of female pilots who fearlessly competed in challenging and prestigious relays, of which she twice emerged victorious. Faye's passion for art led her to become the first college graduate in her family, and she mastered various artistic mediums, from pencil and tempera to oils.
 Her artistic talents and love for teaching intertwined as she became a certified art teacher, inspiring countless young minds at Lee High School Faye's spiritual journey was equally explorative, starting with her born-again experience as a child at a Mississippi tent revival. In the early '70s, she joined the masses in exploring alternative paths in meta-religion before finding solace and a deep connection with God through Jesus, synthesizing the best from different denominations throughout her journey.
 Being well-read in all forms of literature from fiction to history, Faye's unwavering love for her country and conservative values propelled her to believe that it was every American's duty to educate themselves on the inner workings of our government. She was a fierce advocate for individual activism, regularly engaging with her representatives on various issues close to her heart.
 Faye is survived by her three sons, Steven Lee, Mitchel Alan, and Jay Oliver, who will carry on her legacy with pride. She also leaves behind ten cherished grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews who were touched by her kindness and love.
 A funeral service to honor Faye's remarkable life will be held at Spry Funeral Home located at 2411 Memorial Parkway NW, Huntsville, AL 35810. 
 Additionally, one week later, a separate memorial service and ashes release will take place at the Scenic Overlook Pavilion in Montesano State Park, Huntsville, AL, 35801 on Saturday, July 22, 2023.
