John married three times. His first wife was Elizabeth "Betsey" Eddy, widow of a Mr. Hoagland. Only one child of that marriage survived to adulthood: Mary J. Glasgow, later wife of James Gould of Wheeling, Missouri. His second wife was Mary J. Sinclair, who died about 1872. Their two named children were Walter Glasgow, husband of Dora Miller and resident of Fayette Township, and Rose B. Glasgow, wife of Cassius Cla

John's reported age conflicts with a Rasharkin gravestone: the 1851 transcription suggests birth about 1800 or 1801; the gravestone says he died on 20 June 1895 aged 78, suggesting birth about 1816 or 1817.
