Probable contextual association with Nicholas in the 1746 proceedings; no forename or independent military-service bridge. The pay wording is not interpreted as British army service. What the notice says
The King has granted English Pay to the Regiment which Lord Ogilvy is raising, to be composed only of English and Scotch Men. Sir William Gordon of Park is appointed lieutenant-colonel, and “Mr Glascoe Major.”
