Coverage, survival & limitations

Availability depends on the particular repository, locality, date range and record series. We have not established complete coverage for this collection. Follow each provider link for its holdings and access terms; a missing result is not proof of absence.

Reading the evidence: an index, transcript, provider search page and original image are different sources. A recorded image link does not mean its reading or identity match is confirmed. Inspect the assessment and source page before changing a family relationship. Repository guides checked 4 October 2026.

How to read these notices

Cards lead with the person named in the notice; profile candidates are assessed separately. Birth cutoffs labelled “by c.” are estimates, usually assuming an adult professional was at least 18; open the birth note for the basis. Event groups are broad navigation aids built from each notice’s record type. A relationship filter identifies family wording in the notice, not a proved match to a WikiTree family.

What the notice says

The death column reports Mrs. Glasco, wife of Mr. Philip Glasco, junior, watchmaker, in Christ-church-lane. Her given and maiden names are not printed.

Evidence and identity limits

The same junior designation, trade and Dublin lane make Glasgow-3932 a probable match to the younger Philip who married Teresa Plunkett in 1768. If the identification is correct, this records an earlier unnamed wife; do not identify her as Teresa or infer parents. The issue supplies a latest date for her death, not an exact day. Identity review (6 October 2026): Freeman's Journal death column (issue of 28 Sep 1765) for Mrs. Glasco, wife of Mr. Philip Glasco junior, watchmaker, Christ-church-lane, Dublin. Philip junior is the younger Dublin watchmaker, who already exists twice on WikiTree: Glasco-147 (the better-connected profile, with wives Braccan-2 and Plunkett-2805) and the project-created duplicate Glasgow-3932, whose live biography has been overwritten with an unrelated 1827 Kilrea Robert Glasgow text. The deceased wife is already modelled as Braccan-2. No new relationship is needed; the action is a merge and data clean-up.

Who this may be

[b. c. 1740; d. ?] · husband of the deceased
Why this candidate?

The notice's exact designation 'Philip Glasco, jun.', the watchmaking trade and Christ-church-lane agree with the 1768 marriage of 'Phil. Glasco the younger', watchmaker of Christ-church-lane, and with the 1772 Prerogative intestacy index entry 'Philip Glasco, the younger, Dublin, watchmaker' that Glasco-147 is built on (cited on Mangan-824 and Glasco-147). Only one younger Philip Glasco watchmaker existed in Dublin. Glasco-147 (b. c.1740, son of Glasco-146, spouses Braccan-2 and Plunkett-2805, children Glasco-149/150/169/174) and Glasgow-3932 (Phillip, b. before 1750, Co. Dublin, father Glasgow-1241, no spouse) are the same man. Glasgow-3932 was created 22 Jul 2026 and the project's own fil

[b. before 1747; d. c. 1765] · deceased wife of Philip Glasco junior
Why this candidate?

Braccan-2 ('Mary Braccan / Glasco', b. before 1747, d. 1765, spouse of Glasco-147) is the WikiTree profile created for this woman. Her only cited source is the Faulkner's Dublin Journal transcription of this same death. The notice identifies her only as the wife of Philip Glasco junior, so matching her to this profile is secure as a role match. However, the given name and maiden name on the profile are not supported. The RC baptism of Phil Glascoe at SS Michael & John, Dublin, in 1762 (DU-RC-BA-46402, quoted on Braccan-1) names the father Phil Glascoe and the mother only as 'Mary [nr]', and lists Mary Braccan as SPONSOR 2. 'Braccan' therefore seems to have been taken from the sponsor, not th
