Reported events, notices, advertisements and letters. OCR matches need visual checking; place names, vessels and matches to other surnames are excluded from Glasgow surname evidence.
Availability depends on the particular repository, locality, date range and record series. We have not established complete coverage for this collection. Follow each provider link for its holdings and access terms; a missing result is not proof of absence.
Reading the evidence: an index, transcript, provider search page and original image are different sources. A recorded image link does not mean its reading or identity match is confirmed. Inspect the assessment and source page before changing a family relationship. Repository guides checked 4 October 2026.
Reviewed newspaper notices
2 distinct notices from 2 retained pages, earliest first. Reprints of the same notice are merged; 2 pages have saved inline excerpts. Open a notice for its clipping, reading and profile assessment.
How to read these notices
Cards lead with the person named in the notice; profile candidates are assessed separately. Birth cutoffs labelled “by c.” are estimates, usually assuming an adult professional was at least 18; open the birth note for the basis. Event groups are broad navigation aids built from each notice’s record type. A relationship filter identifies family wording in the notice, not a proved match to a WikiTree family.
Named on a Repeal Association list of members who had each collected 20 Repealers.

What the notice says
A Repeal Association list of members “having each collected 20 Repealers” names Owen Glasco; a later place label reads “Raddinstown County Meath,” but the layout does not securely attach it to Owen.
Evidence and identity limits
The uncommon full name, association roles and Meath place context support probable continuity, but the 1843 list layout does not securely attach Raddinstown specifically to Owen. Retain the separate Baddinstown/Raddinstown readings; no modern place is identified. Neither notice proves birth, kinship or residence. “1l.” is £1; “20 Repealers” counts people collected, not money. Identity review (6 October 2026): Freeman's Journal, 25 Feb 1843: Owen Glasco is listed among Repeal members who each collected 20 Repealers, near the label 'Raddinstown County Meath'. Same Owen as in 1841; he has no WikiTree profile. No compatible WikiTree profile after a duplicate search for: Owen Glasco.

What the notice says
“General Assembly’s India Mission.—Yesterday evening, the usual monthly prayer meeting was held in the Rosemary-street Church, when two highly interesting letters from Rev. Adam Glasgow and Rev. Mr. Spier were read by Mr. Morgan.”
Evidence and identity limits
The notice names Rev. Adam Glasgow as a letter author in the India Mission context. It gives no middle name, home locality, or unique identity bridge. The Belfast church is the meeting venue, not a stated residence or congregation for Adam. This is consistent with, but does not uniquely identify, Glasgow-1781. Identity review (6 October 2026): Belfast News-Letter, 28 Mar 1843: letters from Rev. Adam Glasgow and Rev. Mr. Spier were read at the India Mission prayer meeting. This is Glasgow-1781 (strong).
