Reported events, notices, advertisements and letters. OCR matches need visual checking; place names, vessels and matches to other surnames are excluded from Glasgow surname evidence.
Availability depends on the particular repository, locality, date range and record series. We have not established complete coverage for this collection. Follow each provider link for its holdings and access terms; a missing result is not proof of absence.
Reading the evidence: an index, transcript, provider search page and original image are different sources. A recorded image link does not mean its reading or identity match is confirmed. Inspect the assessment and source page before changing a family relationship. Repository guides checked 4 October 2026.

How to read these notices
Cards lead with the person named in the notice; profile candidates are assessed separately. Birth cutoffs labelled “by c.” are estimates, usually assuming an adult professional was at least 18; open the birth note for the basis. Event groups are broad navigation aids built from each notice’s record type. A relationship filter identifies family wording in the notice, not a proved match to a WikiTree family.

What the notice says
House occupied by Joseph M’Cormick, formerly residence of late Robert Glasgow; apply to Benjamin and William Glasgow, Drapersfield Mills, Cookstown; notice dated 16 January.
Evidence and identity limits
Partners named. The former occupant Robert died before 16 January 1864, but identity with 1842 partner still requires a bridge. Identity review (6 October 2026): Notice (Belfast News-Letter, 19 Jan 1864): the house occupied by Joseph M'Cormick, formerly the residence of the late Robert Glasgow, is offered; apply to Benjamin and William Glasgow, Drapersfield Mills, Cookstown. Benjamin is the Drapersfield Benjamin Glasgow-4340, and the late Robert is probably Glasgow-2656. No kinship is stated.
[b. c. 1798; d. 1856-08-20] · former resident of the houseWhy this candidate?
As group 390574459 (1856 death, 'of Cookstown' 1829 marriage to Margaret George, Slater 1846 Robert and the Draper's field spinning firm). Here the late Robert's former house is handled by the Drapersfield mill partners, which ties the mill-owner Robert of 1858 to the Drapersfield firm. Glasgow-3941 (d. 1831) is unlikely.
A Drapersfield Benjamin acting in Jan 1864, four weeks before 'Benjamin Glasgow of Drapersfield' married at Dungannon on the exact date indexed on 4340 (GRONI M/1864/T1/1447/2/35). No competitor is at Drapersfield: 2059 was a Killycurragh/Cookstown merchant, and 2566 was the unmarried son of a farmer in 1876.

What the notice says
Benjamin Glasgow of Drapersfield, Cookstown, married Wilhelmina, eldest daughter of Richard Pike, Esq., of Beechgrove, Dungannon, at Dungannon on 16 February 1864.
Evidence and identity limits
The original notice gives his wife and her father but no groom age or father. It belongs to the consolidated Drapersfield account; do not assign Wilhelmina as mother of every later child without further evidence. Identity review (6 October 2026): Marriage notice (Belfast News-Letter, 18 Feb 1864): Benjamin Glasgow of Drapersfield, Cookstown, married Wilhelmina, eldest daughter of Richard Pike Esq. of Beechgrove, Dungannon, at Dungannon on 16 Feb 1864. The groom is Glasgow-4340. The bride is Wilhelmina Pike-9903 (Quaker birth 1842, eldest child of Richard Pike-9902). The 'Unknown Pike' Pike-17078 now married to 4340 is the same woman and should be merged into Pike-9903.
Glasgow-4340 rests on the GRONI index 'Benjamin Glasgow and Pike, 16 February 1864, Dungannon district' (M/1864/T1/1447/2/35). Date, district and bride's surname are exact. His Cookstown children with mother's maiden name Pike include Richard (b. 10 Apr 1865, named for Richard Pike) and Margaret (b. 7 Nov 1867, the 'eldest daughter' of 1891). No other Benjamin Glasgow/Glascow/Glasco is married to a Pike. 2059 (married Jane Little 1856) and 2566 (bachelor in 1876) are excluded.
Pike-9903 is 'Wilhemina' [sic] Pike, born 11 Nov 1842 at Torren Hill, Co. Tyrone, daughter of Richard and Margaret Pike (Grange Quaker birth register, cited on profile). She is the first child of Richard-9902 (married 1842), so she exactly fits 'eldest daughter'. Pike-17078 ('Unknown' Pike, est. b. 1839, spouse of Glasgow-4340, created from the marriage index without a forename) is the same woman. Propose merging 17078 into 9903 and correcting the spelling to Wilhelmina. Searches for Wilhelmina/Minnie Pike and Wilhelmina Glasgow found no other candidate.
Pike-9902 Richard Pike was born 13 June 1815 at Beechgrove (Quaker birth register) and died 3 Feb 1885 at Dungannon, 'of Beechgrove'. That is a unique designation, and his eldest child is Wilhelmina, b. 1842. His father Jonathan of Beechgrove died in 1860. His son Richard (b. 1856) was too young. No competitor.
