Reported events, notices, advertisements and letters. OCR matches need visual checking; place names, vessels and matches to other surnames are excluded from Glasgow surname evidence.
Availability depends on the particular repository, locality, date range and record series. We have not established complete coverage for this collection. Follow each provider link for its holdings and access terms; a missing result is not proof of absence.
Reading the evidence: an index, transcript, provider search page and original image are different sources. A recorded image link does not mean its reading or identity match is confirmed. Inspect the assessment and source page before changing a family relationship. Repository guides checked 4 October 2026.

How to read these notices
Cards lead with the person named in the notice; profile candidates are assessed separately. Birth cutoffs labelled “by c.” are estimates, usually assuming an adult professional was at least 18; open the birth note for the basis. Event groups are broad navigation aids built from each notice’s record type. A relationship filter identifies family wording in the notice, not a proved match to a WikiTree family.

Benjamin Glasgow Esq., of Drapersfield, granted use of a field for the 12 July Cookstown gathering.
Evidence and identity limits
Later identity control: current action after Benjamin-2059’s February death strongly distinguishes the two Benjamins. Identity review (6 October 2026): Report (Belfast News-Letter, 15 July 1870): Benjamin Glasgow Esq. of Drapersfield lent a field for the 12 July gathering at Cookstown. This is firmly Glasgow-4340. Benjamin-2059 (died Feb 1870) is excluded, and Glasgow-2566, the earlier possible, is unlikely.
· lent field for 12 July gatheringWhy this candidate?
'Of Drapersfield' is the unique designation of the Benjamin who married Wilhelmina Pike in 1864 (= 4340). His Pike-mothered children were still registered at Cookstown in 1872 and 1876. Glasgow-2059 died 8 Feb 1870, so he is excluded. Glasgow-2566 is unlikely: his 11 Jan 1876 marriage register describes him as the unmarried son of George, farmer of Killycurragh, while the Drapersfield Benjamin was a married mill owner whose Pike wife bore twins at Cookstown in Aug 1876. These are simultaneous different households.
