Reported events, notices, advertisements and letters. OCR matches need visual checking; place names, vessels and matches to other surnames are excluded from Glasgow surname evidence.
Availability depends on the particular repository, locality, date range and record series. We have not established complete coverage for this collection. Follow each provider link for its holdings and access terms; a missing result is not proof of absence.
Reading the evidence: an index, transcript, provider search page and original image are different sources. A recorded image link does not mean its reading or identity match is confirmed. Inspect the assessment and source page before changing a family relationship. Repository guides checked 4 October 2026.

How to read these notices
Cards lead with the person named in the notice; profile candidates are assessed separately. Birth cutoffs labelled “by c.” are estimates, usually assuming an adult professional was at least 18; open the birth note for the basis. Event groups are broad navigation aids built from each notice’s record type. A relationship filter identifies family wording in the notice, not a proved match to a WikiTree family.

Evidence and identity limits
This directly bridges the father’s Hull and Drapersfield locations. The bride’s mother and age are unstated; W. is not expanded. Do not automatically identify every Hull namesake or preacher. Identity review (6 October 2026): Marriage notice (Belfast News-Letter, 16 Oct 1891): Margaret George Glasgow, eldest daughter of Benjamin Glasgow of Hull, formerly Drapersfield, Cookstown, married W. Brooke Broadbent, formerly of Manchester, in New York on 5 Oct 1891. She is Glasgow-4293 (b. 1867, mother Pike), daughter of Benjamin Glasgow-4340, so that father link can be confirmed. Broadbent needs a new profile. No compatible WikiTree profile after a duplicate search for: W. Brooke Broadbent.
· bride, eldest daughter of Benjamin GlasgowWhy this candidate?
The father's Drapersfield designation identifies Benjamin-4340 (married Wilhelmina Pike 1864). Glasgow-4293 Margaret was born 7 Nov 1867 in Cookstown district, mother's maiden name Pike (GRONI U/1867/98/1009/2/171), and is the earliest-born daughter among 4340's recorded children (Richard 1865 is a son), which fits 'eldest daughter'. Her age (~23) fits. Other Cookstown-area Margaret Glasgows born 1855-1875 (2021, 1798, 4301, 2029, 2252, 1792, 4335) have other parents. 'George' as a middle name is new and matches the surname of her probable grandmother Margaret George.
'Formerly Drapersfield, Cookstown' bridges the Hull residence to the 1864-1870 Drapersfield Benjamin (= 4340 by exact marriage-index date; chain in group 390574459). Do not assume other Hull Glasgows are kin.
