He notes "club member Robert Pirrie, who is mentioned in your pages, gifted a notice from 1827 that was addressed to 'A. Glasgow, Esq., Messrs. Frew & Glasgow, North Albion Court.' This notice said that 'The Chess Club will meet in the Royal Hotel Georges Square on Monday first the 12th curt., at 7 o'clock Evenin.
