Christian Kerr

21 April 1765

Cargill,Perth,Scotland

Current position

Christian Child's indexed baptism explicitly names George Child (Child-2776) as her father. The date and place exactly match Child-2372, and her later marriage to Alexander Kerr provides identity continuity. A father relationship to a new, carefully limited George Child profile is defensible. No compatible existing WikiTree George Child profile was found, so Child-2776 was created and attached as her confident father on 2 September 2026.

Conclusion: Current conclusion

Christian Child's indexed baptism explicitly names George Child (Child-2776) as her father. The date and place exactly match Child-2372, and her later marriage to Alexander Kerr provides identity continuity. A father relationship to a new, carefully limited George Child profile is defensible. No compatible existing WikiTree George Child profile was found, so Child-2776 was created and attached as her confident father on 2 September 2026.

Do not copy FamilySearch's existing father profile 97F8-GDS. It is currently named Skene Child and combines Christian's 1765 baptism with a 1795 marriage and children baptised in 1798 and 1809. That profile is conflated or otherwise unresolved. Christian's mother is not named by the baptism.

Assessment: WikiTree duplicate and father assessment

WikiTree searchPerson checks for George Child with Cargill and Perthshire locations returned no result. The full George Child result set, including Childs and Childe variants, contained no compatible Scottish man of the right generation. The geographically and chronologically plausible profile match is therefore none found.

Safe conclusion: George Child can be represented as Christian's father, preferably by a new profile with only record-supported facts: name George Child, male, father of Christian at Cargill on 21 April 1765, birth before about 1750 marked uncertain, and no asserted spouse or death details. The relationship is directly supported by the baptism index, but the lack of an original image should be stated. Do not identify him as Skene Child or attach Catherine Pirrie from FamilySearch Tree without independent records.
