Amelia (Glasgow) Wilson

Biography
Amelia was born about 1781 on the island of Saint Vincent, in what was then the British West Indies. She was the natural daughter of Dr. Robert Glasgow of Montgreenan and Rosalie Laborde, who was of African descent. In 1803, her father executed a trust deed bequeathing several legacies, including "to my reputed natural daughter Emilia... £500." https://www.ucl.ac.uk/lbs/person/view/2146643739 It appears by this time Amelia had moved to Kilbirnie, Ayrshire, Scotland, where her father was born and, on 17 December 1804 at Kilbirnie, she married Andrew Wilson of Wallace. Following their marriage, Amelia and Andrew moved to Paisley, Renfrewshire, where their children were born and Andrew conducted business as a Merchant.
