William Glasgow was a servant to John Eastoun in Ormistoun, Roxburghshire, and was among the Covenanters taken at Cavers. Examined before Lord Elphinstone at the end of June 1679, he declared that he had been with the rebels eight days and had carried a gun. He is also listed among the banished who survived the shipwreck at the Moul Head of Deerness, and appears again as a servant at Ormistoun in a list of October 1684. The records place him at Cavers and Ormistoun between 1679 and 1684; no birth, family or death is stated, so his birth is placed before 1679 and Cavers is inferred from the record. Glasgow-1605 represents a child baptised at Polwarth in 1658 and discusses this Cavers man only as a same-name hypothesis. No reviewed record identifies the child with the documented adult. The two profiles are cross-linked while the possible identity remains unresolved; the baptism is not assigned to Glasgow-4138.

Glasgow-3587 is another possible identity: a William Glasgon married Margaret Scott at Hummelknows in Cavers parish on 4 March 1708/09. That is about 24 years after the Ormistoun servant entry. The marriage names no age, occupation, parents or other identifier connecting the groom to the Covenanter.
