The main calibration uses clues available on disconnected profiles; existing parent and sibling links are retained as comparison context rather than treated as transferable evidence. Common ordered names and grandparent-to-child echoes receive a small non-zero weight, so a John or James match can support several independent criteria without producing a lead alone. Rare names, repeated bearers and bundles across otherwise distinct branches receive substantially more weight according to catalogue frequency. An exact migration place is weighted by its rarity and repetition across both branches; a shared destination country is worth only one point. Extra weight is added only when at least three independent clue types converge: naming, locality, specific migration, household chronology or collateral networks. Sparse profiles retain a clearly labelled chronology-only fallback instead of disappearing. Countries, states, counties and research clusters do not count as a shared locality, and fallback, broad representative or kin-inferred coordinates are excluded from distance scoring. Shared descendant profiles are removed before branch-name comparison. A candidate already recorded as a parent-in-law is excluded. A confident or independently supported parent is treated as settled; uncertain and unassessed attachments remain open to alternative comparison. Biography
Robert was born in 1792, in Rockingham County, Virginia. He was the son of Arthur Glasgow and Rebecca Anderson McNutt. 

On 27 Mar 1821, in Botetourt, he married Catherine Thomas Anderson. They settled in Rockbridge and had the following children.
#Margaret Gordon Glasgow b. 1822 - d. 1907, never married
#Joseph Reid Glasgow b. 1823 - d. 1847, age 24
#William Anderson Glasgow b. 1825 - d. 1910, m1/wid. Elizabeth Crisman Spears, m2. Grace Ellen Shanks
#Rebecca Anderson Glasgow b. 1827 - d. 1915, never married
#Francis Thomas Glasgow b. 1829 - d. 1916, m. Ann Jane Gholson
#John McNutt Glasgow b. 1831 - d. 1837, age 6
#Kate Glasgow b. 1835 - d. 1916, m. James Paxton
#Robert Arthur Glasgow b. 1836 - d. 1862, age 26, never married
#Mary Jane Glasgow b. 1838 - d. 1890, m. John Thomas Dunlop

Living in Lexington, Rockbridge throughout his life, it is here he passed away in 1862. He is buried at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
