This profile is securely identified as the fisher Archibald Herbesoun, husband of Isobella Glasgow (Glasgow-3916). Their 27 January 1562/63 sale directly calls them spouses. Archibald was still alive on 19 December 1573, when he, Robert Glasgow and John Glasgow were collectively described as fishers, and his former Bridgegait property was identified on 25 March 1575.

Do not automatically merge him with every contemporary Archibald Herbesoun. The protocols also identify an Archibald ly Barkar in 1559 and an Archibald Herbertsoun, baker, in 1574. The younger Archibald who received property from an elder namesake in 1536 is a possible earlier occurrence, but the inspected acts do not bridge that man to the fisher.

The 1573 association with Robert and John Glasgow supports a close network
around Isobella, but no record calls either man Archibald's brother-in-law. An
Archibald Herbesoun described as a barker in 1559 and an Archibald Herbertsoun,
baker, in 1574 remain distinct candidates. No parent should be attached until a
record bridges the fisher to an earlier Herbesoun household.
