Biography
Jane's maiden surname and exact origins are unknown. Two biographical sketches published in 1888 identify her as the wife of John Glasgow and the mother of seven children, but disagree about the couple's birthplaces. The sketch of her son John B. Glasgow Jr. says that both parents were born in Scotland, Jane about 1783, and moved to County Tyrone after marriage. The sketch of her son William Glasgow instead says that John and Jane were born in County Tyrone to Scottish parents. Both accounts place their children in County Tyrone. 

The seven children named in William's sketch were Robert, Mary A., William, John, Bessie, James and Margaret. Robert later died in Barry County, Michigan; Mary A. died in Moscow Township; Bessie married William Henry and died in Barry County; James became a merchant in Jackson, Michigan; and Margaret married Samuel Glasgow and died at Auburn, New York. 

The accounts also differ slightly on migration. William's sketch says John and Jane left Ireland in 1844 and came directly to Fayette Township near Jonesville. John Jr.'s sketch says they came to Jonesville in 1848. Jane was therefore alive in the 1840s, but her death date and place have not been established.
