  • Glasgow-2898 — daughter of — Wightman-3457: add uncertain (WikiTree now: not linked (profile has a father only)). The notice names only the father. Combining records: James married Mary Wightman on 27 June 1840 (Freeman's Journal 1 Jul 1840; Dictionary of Ulster Biography), and they sailed for India in Sept 1840. The child was born c.16 Mar 1841, about 8.5 months after the marriage. The Dictionary of Ulster Biography lists Margaret Jane as the first of the marriage's five daughters, and Mary lived to 1885. No record names the mother directly. (Belfast News-Letter, 1841-09-10, p.2)

Bride in the same dated marriage. The Dictionary of Ulster Biography names James's wife as Mary Wightman, and the profile is already linked as his spouse.
