Glasgow-1070: Estimated c. 1719 Kilwinning birth permits these eighteenth-century appearances; no occupation, Manchester or individual bridge. Glasgow-4165: Uncertain birth before 1722 and Irvine family context permit an older adult; no patent, mercantile or army-service identity bridge. Glasgow-1058: Uncertain birth before 20 November 1687 at Kilwinning permits an older man in 1762/1768, but age makes this a weak comparison; no occupational or personal bridge. Glasgow-3312: Exact 19 July 1729 Kilwinning birth and recorded 27 June 1768 death fit early 1762/1767/1768 appearances by chronology/locality. Later property reprints can be posthumous; no individual identifier joins this profile to the advertiser.

New record: TNA SP 37/1/134 (Aug-Nov 1762) is the petition of 'Robert Elsden of St Luke Old Street, London, weaver, and George Glasgow of Manchester [Lancashire] weaver' for letters patent for a new method of weaving and quilting cloth in the loom, in imitation of common, India, French and Marseilles quilting. This is the patent the newspapers report as cloth imitating stitched stays, and it makes George a weaver living in Manchester. No WikiTree George Glasgow has a Manchester, Lancashire or weaving record. Glasgow-3312 (b. 1729 Kilwinning, 'merchant in Glasgow' and heir of Nethermains in 1767-68) differs in status and residence, and only a general textile overlap joins them, so he drops to a weak possibility. Glasgow-1058 (b. by 1687, Irvine shipmaster 1737), Glasgow-1070 (b. 1719 Kilwinning) and Glasgow-4165 (Irvine family 1740s) have nothing in common with him except the name. Full WikiTree searches for George Glasgow (all 87 hits), George Glasco/Glascoe/Glascow found no 18th-century Lancashire or English George. A new profile draft is reasonable: George Glasgow, weaver of Manchester, joint patentee with Robert Elsden, 1762. Parents and origin unknown, and Scottish birth is not established.

The State Papers petition shows he was a working weaver of Manchester, joint patentee with Robert Elsden, a London weaver, for weaving quilted cloth in the loom. No WikiTree profile fits him, and the earlier link to the Glasgow merchant of Nethermains (Glasgow-3312) is now weak. - [TNA SP 37/1/134, Petition of Robert Elsden of St Luke Old Street, London, weaver, and George Glasgow of Manchester, weaver, for Letters Patent (Aug-Nov 1762), catalogue description](https://beta.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/id/C17873365)
