Margaret (Dougall) Glasgow

Biography
Margaret was the third daughter of Thomas Dougal(spelling varies) of Killycurragh, County Tyrone, Ireland.

Margaret lived in Coleraine, County Londonderry before marrying.

On 29 Jun 1875 at the Orritor Presbyterian Church, Kildress, County Tyrone, she married James Glasgow of Montober, youngest son of William Glasgow, farmer.

About a week after marrying they emigrated to New Zealand aboard the ship British Empire.

She passed away 7 Apr 1944 age 94 and was buried at Papakura Cemetery with her husband.

Diamond Wedding; Mr & Mrs James Glasgow, of Short Street, Papakura, celebrated their Diamond Wedding on Saturday, having been married 60 years ago in the Presbyterian Church, Orritor, County Tyrone, Ireland. 
They came out a few weeks after to New Zealand, landing in Auckland, in the sailing ship 'British Empire' which carried 275 passengers. They first joined Mr Glasgow's brother at Epsom, afterwards going to Onehunga. Five years after Mr Glasgow took up a milk service, retailing milk in Onehunga & district for 40 years. For 45years Mr & Mrs Glasgow were members of the Onehunga Presbyterian Church. Mr Glasgow was a member of the Mangere Road Board and school committee for a number of years. For a time he farmed a property in Wairoa Road, Papakura, leaving there five years ago for Short Street, his present address. There are 10 Children, most of whom were able to attend the celebrations. Mr Glasgow is 91 years of age, and is still able to milk his cow night and morning. Mrs Glasgow is well and still able to enjoy life.
