An Irvine councillor named Michael Glasgow is documented on 16 April 1686 and again in September 1702. The later entry places him among the trades councillors. The uncommon name, shared place, occupation class, and continuity make the councillor a strong candidate to be the saddler, but the civic records do not state his occupation. The profile's "before 1680" date is compatible with this evidence. This is strong indirect identity evidence, not a parent record.
