The profile has now been split from the William baptised in 1671. This William is the older Kirknewton householder who could chronologically have fathered Bessie in 1682 and the later children recorded through 1705. His birth is estimated as about 1660, uncertain, and his parentage remains unproved; Walter Glasgow (Glasgow-1554) was formerly attached as an uncertain father. That live attachment was removed on 26 September 2026: Walter was christened in 1649 and would have been about eleven at William's estimated circa-1660 birth; no contemporary record names him as William's father. The live biography now states this with the Walter baptism citation. William's father remains unknown.

John Glasgow (Glasgow-3610) is another possible father by chronology: his own birth is unknown, while children attributed to a father John were recorded in the Kirknewton/East Calder area in the 1640s. The previous exact 1626 birth and Kirknewton birthplace assigned to John were removed as unsupported. No baptism, testament or other record names William as John's son; this is a research lead, not a relationship ready to attach.

The earliest is the marriage of Esther Glasgow to John McCanny at Tamlaght by Moneymore on 12 March 1835 (Ireland Marriages 1619–1898, R_795107790/2). No William, Robert or Walter Glasgow is placed at Moneymore before 1850. The only 1766 Glasgow in Artrea parish, which includes Moneymore, is John Glasgoe, Dissenter, at Edernagh (IRE/PRONI/1766RC/G/00424; already known). The County Londonderry Glasgow search for 1700–1860 found no 18th-century Moneymore entry. Findmypast holds no Irish evidence for William Walter, and no record reconciles the competing fathers.
