Overall conclusion

Walter's date falls within the documented July 1649-August 1651 gap in the Mid Calder baptism register. His entry therefore cannot demonstrate that the family was registering children at Mid Calder in September 1649. Inspect the original Kirknewton/East Calder source before assigning a parish or merging adult fathers.

Walter was formerly attached as father of William Glasgow (Glasgow-1026), whose birth is estimated about 1660. The eleven-year interval and absence of a parentage record make that relationship unsupported. It was removed live on 26 September 2026; Walter is not a documented father of Glasgow-1026.

FamilySearch VQ4K-FWL names the father William, and the live profile now attaches William Glasgow (Glasgow-2453). The precise parish and the identity of that William still require the original record, but the father's recorded given name rules out James.
