The 15 February 1754 *Maryland Gazette* report proves only that a Robert Glasgow was master of the snow *John and Archibald*. It names no parents, wife or children, and it does not prove birthplace. The phrase “of Glasgow” in the ship description applies to the vessel, not the person’s origin.
The Glencorse baptisms for Christian/John/James and the online-tree parent/spouse claims are not sufficient to identify him as that shipmaster. No original record yet links this Robert to Margaret Davidson, to children Christian, John and James, to William Glasgow and Ann McCook, or to any shipmaster’s family context.

Biography Robert Glasgow was master of the snow John and Archibald, a vessel described in 1754 as "of Glasgow". He is securely documented only in February 1754.
