About Margaret
The Scotland's People index establishes that Margaret Davidson married Robert
Glasgow at Glencorse on 8 June 1704 (687, 20/53). It also names the couple
as parents of John (1710, 10/93), Isobell (1714, 10/106) and James (1720,
10/121). A FamilySearch baptism index supplies Christian in 1708.

What the research found
Summary of the research
Overall conclusion
The marriage disproves the former about-1700 birth estimate: if Margaret was at least sixteen, she was born before 1689. Her birthplace and death remain unknown; the live profile has been corrected to born before 1689 and died after the last indexed baptism in 1720. The Scottish husband is not thereby proved to be the 1754 shipmaster represented by Glasgow-2867. On 2 September 2026 the unsupported marriage to Glasgow-2867 was removed after Glasgow-3011 had been attached as the uncertain, evidence-based candidate for the Glencorse husband.
What the records show
Source findings
The memorial has no grave photograph, cemetery or primary-record citation; it is marked “Buried or Lost at Sea.” Its date is therefore an estimate rather than proof of an exact year. WT+ Hint 575 was marked corrected after the structured field was aligned with the biography and qualified source.
That earlier alignment is now superseded by the 1704 marriage. Cecil County, Maryland, and the 1759 death have no support in the inspected contemporary records.

Identity and family
Relationship update, 2 September 2026
Isobell Glasgow (Glasgow-4062), baptised at Glencorse on 26 December 1714 to Robert Glasgow and Margaret Davidson, was created and attached to this profile as an uncertain daughter. The parents' 8 June 1704 Glencorse marriage was also connected with its exact date and place.
The live profile was then found to have two husbands named Robert Glasgow. Captain Robert Glasgow (Glasgow-2867) is documented only as a shipmaster in 1754 and has no record connecting him to Margaret. That marriage was removed and publicly verified at 13:49 on 2 September 2026. Robert Glasgow (Glasgow-3011) remains the sole husband, with the relationship uncertain because the 1704 marriage names no age, parents or occupation.
