On 7 May 1690 James Glasgow, son of the deceased James Glasgow, weaver in Lindsayland, was entered as apprentice to William Brown, cordiner and tanner in Portsburgh, burgess of Edinburgh; the entry was scored out (Charles B. Boog Watson, ed., Register of Edinburgh Apprentices, 1666–1700, Scottish Record Society, 1929, printed p. 37, PDF; Findmypast transcript SCOT/EDINBURGH/APPRENTICES/0005159/1). Seen as a printed-edition transcription; the original register was not inspected. The deceased father is probably the James Glasgow, weaver at Back of Lindsaylands, Biggar parish, whose testament was registered at Lanark on 10 November 1680 (index entry above). A creation draft for the apprentice is held in research/Glasgow-4131/.
This bears on this profile only if Glasgow-3332 is the Lindsaylands weaver, which is unproved (chronology only). If a record bridges the two, the 1690 entry would add a son James.
