Glasgow-1150 was an Edinburgh weaver and burgess and is chronologically possible, but no record bridges his Edinburgh household to Back of Lindsaylands. Moreover, the catalogue currently assigns a generic 1693 Edinburgh burgess/master entry to Glasgow-1150; if that placement is correct, he cannot have been the father called deceased in 1690. James Glasgow is the other existing Biggar-area candidate, but his identification with the 1680 testament is also unproved. name, occupation, highly distinctive residence and deceased status make the
1680 testament subject the leading documentary identity for the apprentice's

That does not yet identify the father with this profile. Glasgow-1150 was an
Edinburgh weaver and burgess and is chronologically possible, but no record
bridges his Edinburgh household to Back of Lindsaylands. Moreover, the
catalogue currently assigns a generic 1693 Edinburgh burgess/master entry to
Glasgow-1150; if that placement is correct, he cannot have been the father
called deceased in 1690. [[Glasgow-3332|James Glasgow]] is the other existing
Biggar-area candidate, but his identification with the 1680 testament is also
unproved. Keep the apprentice unconnected until the 1680 testament or another
