Overall conclusion

30 September 2026 — identity review: Robert, buried at Duddingston on 17 January 1647, remains a compatible later identity for Robert Glasgow, the son whom [Andrew Glasgow of Corsoun?]'s 1597/8 testament expressly names by Elizat Stevinsoun. Glasgow-4006's current public biography already represents that record-defined son; its former Andrew reading and the separate creation proposal are superseded.

Chronology and Lothian geography fit. The burial supplies no parent, age or Corsoun association, so the identification is still unproved, but no concrete conflicting parentage or lifespan has been found. The earlier exclusion relied on the missing estate or family bridge and is withdrawn: missing corroboration is not evidence that these were different men. Keep the existing profiles and attachments intact while assessing the later-life identity; this review makes no merge, parent change or live WikiTree edit.

Robert is also the leading candidate for the father of James Glasgow, whose 1641 Edinburgh apprenticeship calls his father Robert a servant to William Crichtoun at Wester Duddingston. The locality and 1647 burial fit, but the apprenticeship does not make the father internally unique.

The current father Archibald Glasgow is unsupported. No record names Robert as his son. Archibald is recorded alive in 1560; the later survival boundary formerly shown on his profile was only a chronology adjustment made to accommodate this uncertain attachment, not a death or parentage record. Robert must also be compared with Glasgow-1027, the Robert directly proved as son of Ninian Glasgow and Jonet Meik, before any re-parenting or duplicate action.

Glasgow-1027 is directly proved son of Ninian Glasgow and Jonet Meik; do not detach or merge him merely because his estimated birth resembles this Robert's.
Glasgow-1096 died before Andrew's 1597/8 testament and cannot be the son then expected to come of age.
Glasgow-3919 was already an adult occupier in Kilbride in 1580 and is a poor generational fit.
Glasgow-3923, baptised at Inveresk in 1626 to Alexander Glasgow and Jannet Clerk, is not the 1641 Edinburgh apprentice James Glasgow. The two James profiles are already correctly separated.
The currently attached wife Deborah Ivey and son Glasgow-1157 are not established by the Duddingston burial or apprenticeship evidence and should remain explicitly uncertain pending their own sources.

Inspect NRS GD150/696–757, GD150/2027–2060 and GD150/320–493 for Andrew's land and an occupier succession to Robert. A later tack, rental or discharge linking Andrew's son to Duddingston could strengthen identification of Glasgow-4006 with Glasgow-1156 before any separately reviewed merge.

**30 September 2026 — identity review:** Robert, buried at Duddingston on
17 January 1647, remains a compatible later identity for
[[Glasgow-4006|Robert Glasgow]], the son whom
[[Glasgow-3163|Andrew Glasgow of [Corsoun?]]]'s 1597/8 testament expressly
names by Elizat Stevinsoun. Glasgow-4006's current public biography already
represents that record-defined son; its former Andrew reading and the separate
creation proposal are superseded.

separately reviewed merge.
