Protocol 2838, 2 April 1586, records John Grahame, bailie, resigning to Stephen Glasgu a great tenement, fore and back, with yard, on the west side of the street from the metropolitan church to the market cross, with the chaplainry of St Kentigern (then William Porterfield of that Ilk's) on the north; Robert Rowet, bailie, gave sasine, and William Spreull, citizen, witnessed. Protocol 3533, 2 March 1598/9, records John Andersone, sailor, as procurator for Stephen Glasgw, resigning a great tenement on the same side of that street, with William Porterfeld of that Ilk's lands on the north, to Archibald Hegate, notary and citizen. Stephen also witnesses several sasines in 1585–86.

Seen as: pasted OCR transcription of the printed abstracts; the protocol books were not inspected, and the notes record no volume or page. The live biography cites these entries as "vol. 6"; confirm volume and page before citing. That the 1598/9 tenement is the one acquired in 1586 is an inference from the matching description.
