Thomas McNeice Glasgow

Biography
Thomas was born about 1832-1836. He was the son of Samuel Glasgow and Ann McCormick. 

He was Confirmed at Derryloran parish church in 1846, aged 14.5 years, resident of Gortin (near Cookstown).

He was in New Zealand by 1875, working as a miner at Thames.

He was intestate and nobody took out administration of the estate.

Transcription of NZ death certificate:
* d. 2 May 1913 at 15 South Street, Auckland.
* Thomas McNeice Glasgow, retired mine manager, age 77.
* Prostatis & chronic cystitis; senile exhaustion.
* Parents: Samuel Glasgow + Annie Glasgow formerly McCormick; land owner.
* Buried at Waikaraka.
* Born Cookstown Ireland.

Gortin was a small townland; it seems likely that the Confirmation record 1846 is the same person, therefore he would have been born 1831 or 1832. Letitia is also in the same confirmation register , age 15 in 1843.

It seems more likely to me that the age at death would have been a few years off -- death ages, especially for Irish of this time period, were often very inaccurate.
 
Possible passenger log: Thomas Glasgow (24) + Martha J. Glasgow (16) both Irish, arrive in Victoria, Australia in 1858 aboard the Africa.
