Current conclusion

No independent record has yet been proved to belong to `Glasgow-3990`. The
profile was created because [[Glasgow-3913|John Glasgow]] was called "senior"
in published extracts of the Larne and Kilwaughter congregational records.
That wording establishes or strongly implies a younger contemporary namesake;
it does not say that the younger John was his son.

No wife, child or descendant of this inferred younger John has been proved. John
Glasgow-3959 of Ballyboggy is currently attached as an uncertain working son;
the attachment itself is not historical evidence.
The estimated birth about 1680 is also unsupported by a recorded age.

The John Glasgow indexed at Killroot in 1733 is the best record-defined
identity candidate. [[Glasgow-3959|John Glasgow]] of Ballyboggy, documented as
a co-lessee in 1740, is treated as an uncertain son rather than an active
same-person candidate. Neither record proves the proposed parentage.
[[Glasgow-551|John Glasgow]] belongs to a separate traditional County Tyrone
reconstruction and is not a safe duplicate without a cross-locality record.

Relationship assessment

The attachment to [[Glasgow-3913|John Glasgow]] can remain as an explicitly
uncertain working hypothesis, but `senior` alone does not support a confident
father field. The two men could instead have been cousins, uncle and nephew,
or unrelated contemporaries distinguished by age.

- Independent Kilroot estate or church material naming relatives of the John indexed in the 1733 administration bonds; the indexed original itself does not survive.

Attached working son: `Glasgow-3959`, **uncertain; not proved**. No descendants are proved.

1733 index audit — 21 September 2026

The official detail now identifies the event as a Connor diocesan administration
bond, not a read will. No administrator, occupation or relative is named. PRONI
reports the original lost; the outstanding question is identity through independent
estate or church evidence, not inspection of a surviving bond linked by this index.
The 1733 deceased-estate occurrence should not be identified with the man personally
co-leasing Ballyboggy in 1740 without resolving that chronological conflict. All

Recommended correction — vital dates, 6 October 2026

**Birth "about 1680" is an unevidenced estimate.** No record of this man's age exists, and no record securely identifies him: he stands for the younger John implied by "John Glasgow, sen." in 1700.
