Hiram was a son of Wilson Crossier Glasgow and Mary McCracken. His gravestone supports birth about 1810 and death 20 February 1847. He married Mary Ann Brandon Kennedy. A biographical account identifies their son Rev. Leonidas K. Glasgow, and Cleora (Glasgow) Speers's obituary calls Leonidas her brother, thereby placing Cleora in the same household.

Source findings — Newberry probate index entries, 12 August 2026

The Newberry County probate court general index to estates, 1785–1949 (index transcription) shows Hiram Glasgow administering the estate of Absolom Glasgow (Glasgow-1145) in 1834 (estate 1069) and, in 1837, acting as guardian of 'J. L. Glasgow and others' (estate 1901), apparently Absolom's minor children. Hiram's own estate, after his death on 20 February 1847, was administered by Robert G. Gilliam. The administration shows a close collateral connection with Absolom's family; it does not make Hiram a son of John Glasgow (Glasgow-1146), and Mary's 1837 will places him in Wilson's household. The minors' identities and Hiram's exact kinship to Absolom need the estate packets.
