Mary's gravestone and will strongly identify her as the widow of Wilson Crossier Glasgow. Her will establishes seven children. Wilson's matching real-estate index lists Robert, Ruth, Naomi, Matilda, Hiram, Almina and Maria; James J Glasgow-2738 is absent and should not be added as their child.

Summary of the research

Overall conclusion

Her gravestone-derived birth about 1777 also excludes an apparent but false identification: she was not Mary McCrachen, aged 17, in Arthur and Ruth's 1768 Chichester immigrant household. She may still belong to the post-arrival generation of that family, but no inspected record names her parents.
