Parentage effect

No found contemporary or near-contemporary source identifies the biographical Robert represented by `Glasgow-550`. The documentary record instead separates every located same-name man by place and date:

Robert remains chronologically possible only because his profile dates are estimates. A son's name, a broad County Londonderry label, or a derivative family tradition cannot identify him as Adam's father. No evidence found connects Robert directly to Adam, Inishrush, or a tenancy inherited by Adam.

The newly established 1767-John naming reconstruction does not improve Robert's
case. John's sons occur as Adam, James, John and Arthur, with his own name in the
traditional third-son position and Maria in the second-daughter position. If the
pattern was followed, the expected paternal grandparents were Adam and Maria,
not Robert and an unknown wife. This is indirect evidence, not an exclusion, but
it means Robert is not the leading father merely because he was a traditional
brother of Hugh-540 or because Adam's proved son was named James.

The late account's statement that Hugh-540's son John was born on the family
farm near Portglenone in 1780 strengthens the wider family's connection to the
Inishrush district. It does not place Robert there. Robert and John-549 remain
equally unproved direct-father candidates; the first-son name Adam points more
naturally to the older Adam/Maria model than to either traditional brother.

The public Y-DNA result for John born 1767 does not supply the missing bridge.
No displayed kit is documented as a strict male-line descendant of this Robert,
John-549, Hugh-548 or Hugh-540. An older WikiTree reference to a five-step match
with a “Melanchthon branch” does not name the tester or pedigree and is not
reproducible from the current public metadata.
