Jane (Glasgow) Patton

Biography
Jenny was the daughter of Robert & Rosanna (Barclay) Glasgow. Jenny was born in Rockbridge Co., Va. Jenny married 18 Apr 1805, to Thomas Elder Patton, son of John & Martha (Sharp) Patton. Thomas was born 29 Jan 1783, in Rockbridge Co., Va. They moved from Rockbridge County, Virginia traveling by covered wagon to Adams County, Ohio. in Oct. 1806, and settled on the West Fork of Brush Creek. The last of the Shawnee Indians had left the year before their arrival. They were members of the Associated Reformed Church. Thomas farmed for a living.

Most of their children all left Adams County & moved west in the 1840's. They were the parents of 11 children:
John H. Patton, born 7 Feb 1806, died ?;
Robert Glasgow Patton, born 17 Mar 1808, married Esther Malinda McIntyre, moved to Monmouth, Ill, had 9 children; Martha Sharp Patton, born 5 Mar 1810, married Gen. William McIntire, had 10 children, lived Adams Co., Oh;
Joseph Benjamin Patton, born 31 Aug 1812, married, first Jane Finley, second Anna Carithers, had 8 children, moved to Hanna City, Ill; Margaret W. Patton, born 31 Jul 1814, married John McIntyre, had 8 children, moved to Louisa Co., Iowa; Nathaniel Cyrus Patton, born 24 Oct 1816, married, first Margaret Black Glasgow, second Eliza Jane ?, had 10 children, moved to Hanna City, Ill;
William Patton, born 14 Jan 1818, died 1909;
Hadassah Jane Patton, born 13 Jan 1819, married Samuel Steele Glasgow, had 6 children, lived Hanna City, Ill; Thomas Elder Patton, born 14 Aug 1822, married Martha Ann Finley, had 12 children, lived Hanna City, Ill;
James Campbell Patton, born 14 Apr 1827, married Sarah Graham Hart, had 12 children, lived Page Co., Iowa;
Phoebe Patton, born 13 Jan 1830, married Samuel Turner Baldridge, had 3 children, & she died, age 20, after childbirth, 3 Aug 1850, buried Cherry Fork, Adams Co., Ohio.
