Documentary identity, graded probable: the same trade, the move to exactly 20 Ormond Quay in Oct 1779, and Watson's 1783 listing of Thomas Glasco, watch maker, at 20 Ormond quay (same house number, four years later) identify the advertiser as Thomas Glasco. The July 1779 marriage of a Christchurch-lane watchmaker Glasco to Miss Hynes of Ormond-quay explains the move to Ormond Quay. The bracketed forename [Thomas] in that extraction is editorial and is not used as evidence. Profile assignment, graded possible only, among three Dublin Thomas profiles managed by the same user. The transcript gives no witnesses, residence or trade.
New, bearing on identity: Hibernian Journal, 11 January 1773, p.2 (BNA BL/0000817/17730111/005), repeated in the same paper on 8, 10 and 22 February, 3, 5 and 22 March and 7 and 9 April 1773, and in Saunders's News-Letter, 12 March 1773, p.3 (BL/0001057/17730312/016). Full-page OCR of the 5 March issue (BL/0000817/17730305/010) reads, with long-s normalised: "THOMAS GLASCO, who served Apprenticeship to his Father, Philip Glasco, late [of] Christ-Church-lane, Watch-maker, and since had several Years Practice in London, takes this Method of informing his Friends and the Public, that he carries on the usual [business] at his said Father's House". So a Thomas Glasco, trained by his father Philip and recently back from London, was setting up at his late father's house in Christ Church Lane in January–April 1773. St Audoen's is beside Christ Church Lane, and the marriage to Margaret Duffy followed in December 1773.
