Overall conclusion

Glasgow-3018 should not be dismissed solely because its reconstructed family contains another son John. One man could theoretically have had a 1693 child with Agnes Martine and later children with Margaret Cowan, although the 1679 child would have been only about fourteen in 1693. The later skipper/bailie identity on Glasgow-3018 is also reconstructed.

His later identity as Margaret Cowan's husband and father at Stevenston is
