identifies his wife as Rosanna Barkley of Tyanee, daughter of Henry Barkley.
This exact combination makes James, rather than the older James Glasgow-3903,
the compelling identity for the James described in the 1847 family letter as
having a child by Henry Barkly's servant-maid daughter. The child is still not
named by either record.

- Excluded lead: a Churchtown (Tamlaght) Presbyterian baptism of 22 February 1847 records Francis Gamble of Tyanee, two months old, father entered as "Barkly", mother Margret Quigley (transcription,
../Glasgow-3905/sources/tamlaght_presbyterian_baptisms.html). The register gives the child's surname and only the father's forename, and local Gamble records use Barkley as a given name (Thomas Gamble, son of Aaron Gamble and a Barklie mother, named a son James Barkley Gamble). This is not the reported Glasgow child. - Negative search: the transcribed Kilrea First Presbyterian baptisms for 1845, 1846 and 1847 contain no Glasgow or Barkley/Barclay baptism and no matching entry without a father.
- Unsearched register: Second Portglenone Presbyterian baptisms survive for 1821–67 (PRONI
MIC1P/357; Coleraine film 179) but no public transcript or image was found; its session minutes begin only in 1881. First Portglenone's surviving baptisms stop in 1846 and resume in 1852. This is an access gap, not a negative baptism search. - Land context: the valuation revision book
