Biography
Dr. Edward Glasgow passed away 8 April 1860 at Hamilton, North Carolina. He was a native of Cookstown, County Tyrone, Ireland.

He graduated with a Master of Surgery from Glasgow University in 1826 https://universitystory.gla.ac.uk/people?search=&surname=Glas&forename= 
Research Notes
The death notice gives no age. However, there is an 1840 census showing a household of "District 8, Martin, North Carolina" headed by Edward Glasgow. Only the name of the head of household is given; the members were recorded as: male under 5, male 40-50, female 5-10, female 30-40. If this is the same person then it suggests he was born 1790-1800.
