The printed Edinburgh testament index places Hugh Glasgow, sometime sailor in Irvine and thereafter in London, on 12 March 1751; the next James Glasgow entry owns the 3 February 1733 date. Hugh Glasgow remains chronologically possible but would be an older candidate. The index supplies no age, parent, spouse, vessel, executor or address, and therefore does not establish this identity.

Land Records 1677) names Hugh Glasgow, preacher of the gospel, as grantee in a deed recorded on 8 March 1677 (Durie Office, vol. 42, p. 148; National Records of Scotland RD3/42). Seen as an index image; the deed itself has not been read. The full-text scan of 22–23 September 2026 lists this profile as one of several unresolved candidates, with Glasgow-1603 (where the entry is attached as a possible match) and Hew-1066.
The entry gives no residence or family. It fits this profile only if the Irvine father of 1696 was already an adult in 1677. Inference: if this Hugh is the same man as Glasgow-1067, baptised in 1676, he cannot be the 1677 preacher. Grade: possible at most; nothing is attached here.
