Source findings

John Glascow is an adjoining landholder in a West-Nottingham Township, Chester County execution-sale notice for 22½ acres, late Michael Dintz’s estate, bounded by Abraham Bunting, John Glascow and others. Planned sale 11 May at one o’clock on the premises; Henry Hayes, sheriff; notice dated 28 April 1773. John is the neighbouring landholder, not the deceased estate owner, buyer or executor. Sale completion is unproved. Two issues print the same notice. The Pennsylvania Gazette, 1773-04-28, p.1, The Pennsylvania Gazette, 1773-05-05, p.5

John Glascow is appointed to provide for distressed families of Associators in actual service by the Chester County Committee of Inspection and Observation, in a resolution dated 13 August 1776. Full heading and roster inspected. William Evans is chairman. This establishes an appointment, not that John was a soldier, Associator, recipient or relative of anyone listed. John Glascow is the neighbouring landholder of Michael Dintz's 22.5-acre West Nottingham tract in an April 1773 sheriff's sale. The only John taxed as a West Nottingham landholder in 1773 is the continuing storekeeper/landholder whose holding passes to Hugh Glasgow in 1793, i.e. probably Glasgow-2871.
The Pennsylvania Gazette, 1776-08-28, p.3: no longer a candidate for this profile. John Glascow is appointed (13 Aug 1776) by the Chester County Committee of Inspection to provide for distressed families of Associators. Several Johns were taxed in Chester County in 1775-76 (West Nottingham landholder, East Nottingham landholder, East Bradford freeman), so the appointee is only possibly the West Nottingham man, Glasgow-2871.
