Margaret Hutcheson (also recorded as Hochaine) lived in the mid-16th century in or near Hermiston (sometimes written Hirmenschelis) in the Lothians or Glasgow region. 

Her surname appears in her husband’s 1577 testament as Hochaine, which may be a phonetic variant of Hutcheson or Hutchin, both common in west-central Scotland at that time. She may be connected to the Hutchesons of Lambhill and Gairbraid, but her precise parentage is not yet confirmed.
