The Edinburgh burgess roll then records Robert Glasgow, cordiner, on 4 July 1666 by right of his wife Euphame, daughter of the deceased Andrew Lorimer, beltmaker and burgess. Name, wife, place and chronology make this very probably the father in the four baptisms. It is not evidence that he was the Robert baptised in 1618 at Glasgow.
The 1 January 1657 St Cuthbert's index instead gives Jonet Glasgow's parents as
Robert Glasgow and Eupham Tailyour (685/2 30/15). Do not silently identify
Tailyour with Lorimer or combine the mothers without the original image.

the glass manufactory. A later history dates the entry to 1695 and calls Robert
a glassmaker, but the original calls him only a servant. On 16 July 1694 a
Robert Glasgow gave a receipt in Ainslie's name for bottles supplied to the
Earl of Breadalbane (GD112/15/59, item 24). The shared employer and year make
these almost certainly the same man and prove a functional glassworks-business
role, but not that he was a skilled glassmaker. This profile's Robert would
have been about 66. Neither record supplies a link to Euphame Lorimer or the
cordiner trade, so the identity remains unresolved.
Glasgow-3011, baptised at Glencorse in 1676, is a stronger younger candidate for the 1694 servant. Exact Leith OPR searches found no Glasgow/Glasgo/Glascow/Glaskow/Glassgow baptism in 1694–1730 and no exact Robert Glasgow marriage in 1694–1710 or burial in 1694–1730; register survival and spelling limit the negative evidence.
