Begin with Robert Glaskow at Larne in 1653 and the neighbouring John and James Glascho households at Kilwaughter Demesne in 1669. Congregational records strengthen the case for close kinship between John and James. The later Robert Glasgow and Rachel Wilson household is securely reconstructable, but its descent from the earlier Larne Robert remains unproved.

John Glasgow of Lisnagaver is currently attached as that father, but the family gravestone places the Lisnagaver John's birth about 1816/17, the same generation as Alexander.
